What an unexpected ride this first half of 2020 has been! We entered the new year ready to work hard and host a successful Velo-city Ljubljana conference in June. With a programme full of high-level speakers, more than 60 sessions, and you, dear delegates, registering in large numbers, we were full of optimism and motivation.
Unfortunately, not long after we launched the preliminary programme, Covid-19 has swept across the globe and turned our lives upside down. As with all events around the world, it made planning of the Velo-city 2020 Ljubljana extremely challenging. We, therefore, had no other choice than to postpone the event to 14-17 June 2022.
The good news is that we will be meeting first in Lisbon on 1-4 June 2021 and after that it will be time to roll up our sleeves and start preparing a strong programme for the Velo-city 2022 Ljubljana edition once more. Among the devastation Covid-19 has brought to many, it has also shown the crucial role of cycling for the resilient future of our communities. With these new insights in mind we are ready to prepare an inspiring programme that will reflect our new realities.
